Removing and Installing Cabinet Doors
I would like to share a simple tip that may seem obvious for some, but may be very useful for others regarding removing and installing cabinet doors. Using a power drill and the appropriate bit, remove the old doors starting from the screw on the bottom and work your way up. Doing it this way will allow the door to hold itself onto the last screw, making it easier and safer to remove.
When installing the new door, this trick works in the opposite direction. Hold the door with one hand roughly ¼” from the front edge of the cabinet, when you have the right side aligned, begin screwing in the first screw starting at the top hinge and then the second screw on the lower hinge.
Leave one screw per hinge until the doors are all installed and properly aligned. If you install the four screws at once you will have limited possibilities to adjust the doors when working to align them. When you work with the hinges to align the cabinet door, select a starting point in your kitchen cabinets and work forward from there, don’t jump from left to right, it will take you forever.
