FAQ
We send a sample door 12”x15” at a cost of $25. To order fill in the personal information and go through the steps to build the door that you like and then check the box that says sample.
What is the quality of the wood?
We use Select grade wood that is a good compromise between a Premium grade (excellent matching color and grain) and a Natural grade [knotty and inconsistent color] to reach the perfect balance between quality and price. Light variances in color and grain are available between pieces; however looking for a perfect match in a natural product like wood door it is impossible and it will make it look like a PVC (vinyl) door.
Yes we finish the doors and refacing material with just lacquer or a combination of lacquer and stain. We use the latest finishing technology to ensure our doors and veneers are finished to perfection.
Do you drill for the concealed Euro hinges?
Yes we drill for the hinges; however we don’t drill for knobs. In our step by step video we will show you how to drill for knobs and avoid mistakes.
How do I determine the drill location?
To determine the drill location you need to face the door; your left corresponds to the left location for drilling. We drill for the hinges at a 1/8” from the side edge and at 3-1/2” from top/bottom to the center of the hole, if you require a different top/bottom distance write a note on the “special request” box. When you are ordering doors without any kind of arch the side of the drilling [left or right] is not important.
How long is the delivery time?
It takes on average 4-5 weeks from the time you place your order.
Will taxes be applied to my purchase?
If you live in Canada you will be charged GST and PST, if you are in the USA you may not be charged with any taxes but we recommend that you check with your State Authority because the law changes from State to State.
How do I know if I have framed or frameless cabinets?
If you have gaps between your doors bigger than ½” you probably have a framed cabinetry. If it is between 1/8” and ¼” you have frameless (euro style) cabinetry.
How do I measure the doors if I have framed (traditional) cabinetry?
If you want to use exposed hinges like the old door, you could measure the old doors, but if you want to use the hidden hinges you should follow the step by step video because there is many different ways to deal with it and we are showing the easiest way.
If you are familiar with hinges and you want to do it differently than the best way is described in the video (in case you want a small gaps between doors) feel free to buy the hinges on your own.
How do I measure the doors if I have a frameless (European) cabinetry?
You simply measure the old doors.
The doors and drawers are ¾”.
How do I know the size of the glass for my glass doors and how do I install the glass?
The glass size is determined by measuring the back opening of your new cabinet door and detracting 3/16”, we recommend the use of 1/8” thickness. We will supply the rubber molding to install the glass without a messy caulking.
